We’re Going Back to School

Corcon is delighted to announce the completion of the Guidepost Montessori school located in Rockville, Maryland.  This was a gut and remodel of the main building along with improvements to an onsite house to be used as an administration building.  Inside the main school we demolished all wall partitions while adding several new toilets and classrooms. Brand new flooring, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and painting was completed throughout the space. We also made some landscaping improvements and added a new playground and fencing.  This was a challenging project to complete in under 11 weeks but we are proud to have turned this project over to a very happy client.

Building Up in Brooklyn

We are happy to have completed work at 408 Fulton Street in Brooklyn, New York.  The scope of work included the removal of about 5,000 square feet of concrete, staircases and escalators.  We installed new steel and concrete to support the two new escalators, along with removing the third floor of the building in order to increase the height of the second floor ceilings.  The exterior work included new flashing on the roof and installing Alpolic metal panels across the storefront.  This was an exciting job to work on and are looking forward to our next project.

Hermes Heaven in Florida

We are extremely proud to announce the completion of Hermes in Aventura, Florida.  This space was approximately 4,500 square feet where pink hues were used throughout to coincide with the tropical theme.  You enter the store through large floor-to-ceiling glass doors to walk upon gorgeous pink terrazzo floors with grey accent stone.  The custom millwork from France displays all of the Hermes fashion to its best.  Not to miss any attention to detail, the walls were also coated with a pink colored Armourcoat stucco to fully embrace the Miami flare.  This is the fourth Hermes store built in Florida and we are excited to collaborate with the Hermes team again.

Are You Ready to Climb?

Corcon is thrilled to announce the completion of Brooklyn Boulders in Washington, D.C.  The base building was constructed to accommodate this 35,000 square foot climbing and fitness gym.  This space is nothing short of spectacular.  It has areas that have a three-story clear span at 30 feet tall with a continuous mezzanine throughout its length. The climbing structures, some of which are hydraulically operated, are constructed from 26 tons of steel and covered in Baltic Birch.  The floor finishes are a mix of ceramic tile and rubber matting with a great deal of polished concrete. There are also many hand painted murals by local artists throughout the facility.  We also installed two elevators that provide access to the three floors. Both the men’s and women’s bathrooms have cedar lined infrared saunas and there are several lounge and recovery areas to complement the large array of fitness and weight training stations. There is a Yoga studio and a fitness training studio along with an events and kids space. There are several offices and staff lounges along with an assortment of utility rooms and an equipment wash down area.  A large reception desk and welcome area allows views from a mezzanine of the three story climbing structure and cave area.  We love working with Brooklyn Boulders on exciting projects like this!
